A TEEN who stabbed his grandfather to death with a hachet knife discussed his plan to kill on secret chat app Kik.
Raistlin Martin, 15, had a conversation with a person known only as Sporkus_the_wise and over two evenings outlined what he was going to do, then sent pictures which included a hatchet and a pair of black gloves.
Then around 20 minutes after sending his last message, a 911 call was made to Cumberland County dispatchers, Alabama, in the US.
According to an affidavit for a search warrant, when officers arrived Martin was wearing black gloves and covered in blood.
The mutilated body of his grandfather, Joseph Emmett Naulty, 63, was found in his bed.
The hachet was on the floor nearby.
Phone messages revealed the motif for allegedly killing his grandad was he was "just kinda inconvenient."
Naulty had moved into the home of Martin's dad a few months previously after his wife had died.
The affidavit revealed before his attack in August, the teen had sent pictures and discussed " the reason, planning and method of murdering" his "'Granda.'"
Martin was using the name EtherealSkull on the Kik app.
The teen turned 16 last month, and was charged as a juvenile with first-degree murder.
However prosecutors are now trying to decide whether he should be charged as an adult.
Sheriff investigators into the case are still trying to establish the true identity of the Kik app user who Martin had been corresponding with known as Sporkus_the_wise.

Sgt. Sean Swain, who was acting as a sheriff's spokesman, said representatives from Kik had been working with them on the case.
He told the Fay Observer: "We are making progress, but it is slow due to the procedures we have to follow."
The app has become very popular with teens who want to correspond with each other anonymously.
However there has been a growing concern from law enforcement that it has got a number of links to crimes.
Many of them have involved child predators.
In January Nicole Madison Lovell, 13, left her home in Blacksburg, Virginia, through her bedroom window , to go and meet someone she had been messaging on the app.
Her body was found three days later. Two Virginia Tech students were charged with her murder and cops claim they appeared to have been planning the killing, having bought cleaning supplies.
