Actresses usually wax lyrical about the benefits of 'chicken fillets' and push-up bras, but Teri Hatcher has put her recent enhanced cleavage down to another reason.
The Desperate Housewives star, whose recent storyline sees her appearing in risqué lingerie for several episodes, says her breasts are 'method acting.'
Appearing on late night talk show Jimmy Kimmel Live, she joked: 'Something about by breasts, it's like method acting, they seem to have just spontaneously gotten bigger.'

Teri says of her recent storyline: 'I've been spending a lot of days in lingerie.
'It's interesting, its been very vulnerable and funny for me as an actress.'
Previews for this week's episode suggest that Susan's cover will be blown when she unexpectedly becomes the face of the internet company.
Her husband and neighbours will discover her secret job when Susan's face appears on billboards promoting Va-Va.Broom.

Dressed stylishly in jeans and a sequinned top, Teri revealed how her recent face-framing layered hairstyle came about.
Proving that celebrities are prone to the same spontaneous hair disasters as us mere mortals, the actress told Kimmel how she decided to cut her own fringe on a sleep-deprived whim.
'I haven't been sleeping well - or at all,' she said. 'I have something called frozen shoulder, and it's extremely painful. So I'm not sleeping.
'I had been up, I'd taken my daughter to school, worked a whole day, come back home, not slept, taken my daughter school. So it was about 30 hours that I'd not slept.

She continued: 'It was about 9.30 in the morning, and I was looking in the bathroom mirror and I thought, "Bangs.... I think that would be a good idea." I took a pair of scissors and just hacked it off.
'And it's bad, then there's a point where you go, "Wow, there's really no going back at this point." I was in denial for about a day, and then I called my hairdresser.'
Teri has also said she is 'flattered' to be asked to film a cameo in Superman television series Smallville.
The actress, who made her name playing Lois Lane in the 1990s hit show Lois and Clark: The New Adventures of Superman alongside Dean Cain, will appear as Lois's mother.

She told TV Guide: 'I'm at a place where I feel a lot of sentimental attachment to that character, to the show and to the genre of that timeless story, so I was really flattered that they asked.'
In the series, Lois's mother is dead, so Teri will appear in a video that is found by Lois (played in the new series by Erica Durance) .
Miss Hatcher's former co-star Dean Cain has also previously filmed a cameo in the series.
