NETFLIX has announced that a popular drama series has been recommissioned for a second series, with production to begin next year.

The Belgian series High Tides, known as Knokke Off, found success in the streamer's top ten most-watched list.

Last night, Netflix Netherlands shared on X(Twitter) that the Flemish-Dutch coproduction High Tides, starring Pommelien Thijs as Louise, Willem De Schryver as Alexander and Eliyha Altena as Daan, has been renewed for a second series after its growing popularity.

The transcript for the video post which featured the cast  (translated into English) read:

“Big news! Jenna! You’re not going to tell it without me, are you? No. Don’t forget about me. Elijah! Yo man, what’s up? Okay, now we’re on the air.

"Don’t forget your mom, Elijah. Oh, hi Anna. Now everyone’s here.

The post was captioned: “ PUT A BOTTLE TONIGHT BECAUSE KNOKKE OFF IS COMING BACK FOR A SECOND SEASON.”

Based on the video post, filming begins for High Tides season 2 in 2024, which could suggest a release date of late 2024 or, more likely, 2025.

The new coming-of-age drama follows three teens hoping to find themselves while spending the summer in the Belgian seaside town called Knokke.

In mid-November 2023 the streamer announced it had acquired the rights to the series, created by the Dingie production company and on December 7, the show landed on the platform.

Fans who finished watching High Tides took to social media to praise the series as one wrote: “Don’t know what Netflix put in Knokke off but it’s really good.”
