Prince Naseem Hamed mocked as a 'fat b*****d' while being presented with Ring Magazine belt

PRINCE Naseem Hamed was presented with a long overdue Ring Magazine belt - but was roundly booed at Leeds’ First Direct Arena.

And it was all because the former featherweight world champ hails from Sheffield - the same City as Josh Warrington’s rival Kid Galahad.

Hamed is ringside to watch Warrington defend his IBF world title against Galahad at the First Direct Arena in Leeds.

The Ring Magazine belt is awarded to “the best of the best” and few would argue that in his Prime, Naz was just that.

But the vociferous Leeds crowd weren’t ready to clap one of boxing’s great heroes, and also called him a “fat b*****” as he took to the ring.

The 45-year-old took the mic and spoke of how he excited he was for the Warrington vs Galahad main event.

And despite even giving Leeds hero Warrington the edge when speaking earlier in the week, Naz was booed before exiting the ring.

Hamed was famed for his career as featherweight world champion under the tutelage of trainer Brendan Ingle at the Wincobank gym in Sheffield.

Ingle's son Dominic has taken the reins at the famous Sheffield gym - and will lead Galahad out into battle tonight against hometown hero Warrington.

At the weigh in on Friday, Galahad and his team were chased out of the building by Warrington's Leeds fans.
