WESTLIFE star Mark Feehily has welcomed a baby girl with his fiance Cailean O'Neill.

The 39-year-old singer announced the news on Instagram earlier this morning, adding that he and Cailean are the "happiest dads in the world".

Mark shared a photo of himself and Cailean pushing their bundle of joy through the hospital corridor, with their arms pumped up in the air in jubilation as they gaze down adoringly at her.

The proud dad captioned the photo: "Baby Layla born safe & sound @ 7.27pm on October 1st 2019!

"We’re the happiest Dads in the world!"

Layla, thought to be the result of a surrogate, can not be properly seen in the snap, with her body obscured by a hospital blanket.

Fans quickly inundated the happy couple with their well-wishes, with one commenting: "Congratulations darling, welcome to the world baby Layla."

Another added: "Congratulations! She is gonna be so loved!"

A third gushed: "I am so happy for the both of you."

Back in May, Mark announced that he and Cailean were set to welcome their first child together, posting a mirror selfie that showed a picture of a baby scan on a mobile phone with a babygro and hat on the table in front.

Sharing the news on his birthday, the Irish star wrote: "It really makes this my most special birthday EVER to let everyone know that later this year we will become Dads for the first time.

"This is the proudest moment of our lives and we are beyond excited to say it out loud!"

The exciting news came just three months after Mark and Cailan got engaged after six years together.

Mark, who came out as gay in 2005, was previously engaged to British fashion photographer Kevin McDaid, until their 2011 split.
